STAR striker Besart Berisha will take no part in Brisbane Roars final clash of their pre-season campaign today against NPL Queensland champions Olympic FC at Goodwin Park.
Considered sufficiently match-hardened ahead of the Roar’s A-League season-opening match against Wellington Phoenix on October 13, Berisha will be kept in cotton wool, along with Shane Stefanutto and Corey Brown, this afternoon.
Kwame Yeboah will start in the central attacking role normally occupied by Berisha, while James Donachie and Julius Doe will share left fullback duties in the absence of Stefanutto and Brown.
Donachie is also expected to spend time in the centre of defence, where skipper Matt Smith and Jade North are expected to start the match.
“We’ll mix things around in the second half,’’ Roar coach Mike Mulvey said.
Olympic will use the match as a warm-up for their NPL playoff next Saturday against either Sydney United 58 and Canberra FC at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre.
